Megan Rapinoe I applaud you, but we need many many more like you. To stand up, to not be afraid to have a strong voice. Stand up for your core values. I always have, it’s gotten me some praise, but it has also gotten me a lot of silence. Too be blunt, many people are scared to have a powerful voice. Whether it’s friends, family or colleagues that might ridicule them or stop associating with them. This type of attitude is not creating change, it’s keeping us in purgatory so to speak.

I hope that Megan’s team and people that are behind her will show their support. Of course she got blasted by Trump or Drump as I like to call him, the satanic plague of our country right now. If you are a Trump supporter please get the fuck off my blog, you are not welcome! I completely understand what it is like to have an “administration”, mine symbolizing my family and many friends who don’t back you up or support you. They silently tell you they are sorry or don’t say anything at all except to observe you. It’s very lonely when you feel like the only one taking a stand.

I want more people in my life like Megan Rapinoe, because I want to make a difference. I am not afraid of what it might cost me. I spoke up about my rape recently which I have done before. I called out someone who is supporting my rapist. Do you know what happened? Everyone just observed. It’s sad to me, it shows weakness in my opinion. It’s the reason we aren’t seeing change. I even had someone say to me “well it happened a while ago.” Seriously? WOW! This attitude is the reason there are women out there raising “rape children” who are being forced to share them with their rapists. Or this women who got shot while she was almost full term and is being blamed for her child’s death. Maybe I should care more about what people think and keep my mouth shut and my opinions deep inside my soul? Is that what I should do so that we can eventually evolve into a Handmaids Tale society.

Stand up people! Stand up Women! Be stronger please. Don’t just say you disagree amongst yourselves. That doesn’t do shit. I don’t have as much power as someone like Megan, but I hope to one day so that my voice is heard a little more loudly than it is right now. Where are all the Megan Rapinoe’s of the world? Where are you? Don’t you want this world to change? Stop caring about the ridicule you might get, because YES, you will get ridicule. We are a long way from the change that we want, but sitting in the dark, ignoring people like me who are trying to take a stand is weakness that won’t change a damn thing. Maybe it’s the more people need to truly figure out what their core values are. All I know is the vast silence frustrates the crap out of me.

Thank you Megan for your reason stand for what you believe, your courage and your strength, I can only hope your team stands behind you. There are other women who are standing up, I am not trying to say that there isn’t, I am pinpointing a recent event, but there needs to be more, many more who stand strong against what they might fear!
