As everyone was getting posts and opinions up about the finale of GOT, I have been sitting back with some popcorn watching it all unfold. Taking my time and curious to see what the majority is saying, what the opinions are and the overall feeling of the finale. From what I can gather, people are PISSEDAF or UNSATISFIEDAF. Fans with a hater attitude! Come on people, I would love to see you try and write this show. Tough crowd the GOT community is…WOOF!

Let me say this, I was SATISFIEDAF. Yes, that’s right, I thought it was great, I wasn’t looking for an all out war of an ending as it seemed many were. I thought the finale was one of the most powerful, well thought out, symbolic and logical endings. Did I jump up and say “NO”, when Bran was voted king. Yes I did. Then I quickly realized that this was probably the logical choice. The keeper of memories, someone who would not create chaos, I ended up being ok with it. Yes, I wanted Sansa and predicted it would be her, BUT, she got her crown as well, so it worked out for her in the end. Did we all know Dany was going to die? I certainly predicted that from the very beginning. I still think she is a total badass and will stand behind that boss bitch, but it was inevitable, it had to happen, they had to kill off a favorite and she was the most (again) logical choice.

A lot of people felt there were a lot of loose ends, but for me it ended the way a movie might end, essentially each episode was a movie. I am a writer and if I were to guess on the thinking I would say that it’s ok to leave the viewer hanging. Let us tie up the loose ends with our own imagination. The upside to this is that there is going to be a prequel. Or maybe there isn’t. I think we will all live and get over it, if not, you need some serious therapy about your obsessive behavior. I thought there was so much symbolism in this episode. Symbolism really gets me excited! The significance of Jon coming face to face with the dragon before going to kill his queen. I can think of a couple things about this moment (which by the way I screen shot because it was so fucking beautiful). There might have been an understanding, Drogon can obviously sniff out and predict if someone is harmful. In my mind, it was an understanding of, “you two settle this.” I think Jon also went in with the hope that maybe he could talk her down and the last resort being to end her life. Or this moment could have purely been, RESPECT. Jon, even tho he clearly didn’t get the reward everyone thought he deserved in the end, comes from a powerful blood line, this might have been a weakness the Dragon started sensing in Dany and a strength he saw in Jon.

The symbolism of the Dragon burning or melting we should say, is really simple as far as I am concerned. The war and destruction that this throne has caused needs to be destroyed and if Mama (Dany) can’t have it, sure as shit no one else is going to either. A start to a new beginning, a new way to rule, which is clearly how things ended. I was really cool with all of it, it all made sense to me, the writing was great, the acting was fucking fabulous. I cried, I cheered, I felt pleased and obviously sad it’s all over, but pleased. You know out of habit we are all going to be expecting to sit down at 9pm to watch, well I probably will, don’t judge me!

So to all the people out there hating. Realize that with how chaotic all the seasons played out, this really was the way to end it all, more peacefully than I think anyone expected. Yes, Jon being condemned to the Night Watch was exactly how it was supposed to play out. Him being King would have been way too easy. I honestly believe he was content with the decision, at least that is the way it seemed to me.

Y’all can stress on this and feel unsatisfied, but I was pleasantly surprised with the finale and even more pleased.

That is all and… YOU. ARE. WELCOME.
