Is it the dragons, the chiseled men in armor, the sex? Yes, all these things make Game Of Thrones worth watching, but really, in all honesty, it’s the fucking BADASS Women that lead this show. Please tell me you haven’t over looked this? Whether they are good or bad, these Women have outlived most of the many Men that have been killed on this show. The Women are ruthless and withstand some of the most brutal shit and they get through it without acting like a bunch of babies. It all makes sense, females do give birth, we bleed for 7 days once a month, our emotions are always more heightened, our emotions might make us look weak at times, but we are by no means weak when it comes to physical and mental strength. This is nothing against Men, but at the end of the day there is no denying that the role of a Women in real life and on GAME OF THRONES, is one of strength and power. Yes people, get ready for an epic post of references to the AMAZING Women of GOT… YOU. ARE. WELCOME!

I don’t think I truly appreciated what it meant to be a Women until I became a Mother. I know that may sound unbelievable, there were times when I was a young girl where I would say that I wished I could be a boy for just a day, to pee standing up, no period, no constant emotions. Stupid shit, yes totally stupid. This was me being young and naive obviously. Now in my 30’s and raising a young lady, I wouldn’t want my life to be any different, I LOVE being a Women, but being a Women today still isn’t easy. Yes, sure, it’s much easier than it was in the 50’s, but still we have only come a short distance from where we were then if we really think about it on a larger scale. I have always been outspoken, if you know me and you are reading this, you are probably exclaiming out loud, “Yes Mollie, you are most definitely outspoken.” But the way I speak out now is for what is right, for things that mean something to me, things that I have been through or things I want to see change for my daughter and other children I plan to have. Raising a daughter right now is truly beautiful. I would compare myself to Dany in Game Of Thrones. She went through some really brutal shit. Treated like an object that could be tossed around and not a beautiful Women that she was, her beauty was thoroughly abused and all she heard were lies, but through all of it she picked herself up, taking all the hate, anger and rage to become something more powerful than anyone could have imagined. (Of course the Dragons help make her the coolest Female.) This is me, I have taken my experiences especially the bad ones and turned it into fuel, fuel that makes me stronger and stronger, impossible to breakdown.

The younger generation of young girls are especially like Arya. Growing up in a world where everything is being challenged. Shit is literally hitting the fan, Women are among the HUGE challenges we are facing right now, trying to get the rights and respect we deserve, but this means we need to become stronger, fight harder and show the world what we are made of. I see the younger generation doing this because they are seeing so much destruction, more than I ever saw. Arya grew up with so much destruction around her, watching her family ripped apart, fighting tooth and nail to become the warrior that she has become, I mean come on, did you see the latest episode of GOT? If you didn’t, you need to get on it, ASAP! We are a product of how we grow up, but it’s up to each one of us personally to do the right thing with what we have experienced. I see Mischka in Arya. She is growing up with a family that has been ripped apart, in a world that isn’t so fair, but she already sees my strength and is becoming quite the amazing little human. I know she is going to be a warrior!

I am referencing GOT because not only is it the most badass show on TV, but it showcases every type of strong dominant Women you could imagine, who has pulled herself out of some crazy experience. Going down more of the list we have Sansa. You all remember what she had to go through? I would rather not go into detail, but that rape scene and the dialogue of what she went through and what was insinuated there after looked and sounded horrific. I don’t know too many people who could pull themselves mentally out of that, but that girl did and wow, was she smart. That is definitely one thing all of these Women have, brains, whether the villain like Cersei who you love to hate and hate to love, because lets be honest, she is a badass lady in her own right. She is manipulative, she doesn’t give a fuck, she is smart, and yes a total sociopath, but hey, she is a Women doing what she needs to do to survive in a MANS WORLD! For GOT, it’s really starting to look like a Woman world at this point, am I right? YES! Let’s not forget about Breanne. I saved her for last because I also see myself in her character. I guess I see myself a little bit in all of them, well maybe not Cersei, but there could be something there. Breanne is doing what is generally a Mans job, she is trying to prove herself over and over and doing everything that is right with no recognition for it, but never giving up. That is just so rough on your soul, but she doesn’t stop. She holds back everything she is feeling to show her loyalty and you all know how I feel about loyalty, it’s a huge strength and not an easy one. BADASS BREANNE! And I stress this, you need to go watch the last episode, even if you are not a GOT fan. Breanne gets knighted! A Women getting Knighted?? BIG DEAL, big big big deal. The emotion in that scene is what I imagine it would be like for our first Women president.

Women are scary because we are capable of survival against all odds. It has been proven time and time again, whether in real life or on a show like GOT that shows every single type of scenario that a Female has to endure. It’s brutal, it’s beautiful, it’s exhausting, it’s exhilarating, it’s powerful. Power comes in all shapes and sizes, experiences come in all shapes and sizes and it’s what we do with those experiences that matter. Raising a daughter in this world right now could be the single most amazing and grateful experience I could ever imagine. I only hope that my daughter and her generation become a generation of warriors, bringing together their different experiences and taking over the world, our planet, the “throne” if you will.

Is it Sunday yet? I need my Game of Thrones, Women empowerment fix right now!
